Summary:
Life is short, fill your cup, have fun, be a lunatic on a tennis court and make friends.
More explanation:
One, everyone should have passions - but let us be clear - you don't not have to be an expert in those passions. In fact, you can be downright terrible at them. Being terrible at something and slowly getting better is the humbling reminder we need sometimes in our culture. A lot of growth in life is like ivy on a building - it just takes time. That growth hits deep down in your soul. We all need it.
Two, you should find your family or your 'people' at school. Tennis is a way to form those relationships. Being terrible or even mediocre at something TOGETHER leads to a more soulful, happy connection with those around you. We need more planned lunacy and tennis is just one of many ways to do this. Sports, hobbies, clubs, electives - these are the things that get us out of bed in the morning. This is the good stuff of life that students need to find their way to lead fuller lives.
So, please, come be terrible with us, won't you?
