Golf is a slower paced sport that focuses on precision and accuracy. Gar-Field Golf is a varsity level VHSL Fall sport. Golf season tryouts are during summer at the end of July, with preseason workouts beginning on July 8th. We practice off site at Forest Greens Golf Club. Golf matches during the summer are typically 18-hole matches and are held at local golf courses in our community. Once school begins, there will be 9-hole matches after school. The District and Regional Matches are both 18-hole matches; you must shoot a qualifying score to make it to regionals. Golf season will be completed by November.

July 28th, 29th, and 30th 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Team Requirements:
- Transportation to and from Forest Greens Golf club (or the location of the match)
- Address: 4500 Poa Annua Lane, Triangle VA 22172
- Tennis shoes at a minimum
- Preferably golf shoes or turf shoes (something to help you keep a grip on the ground)
- Golf glove:
- Right handers: you will need a glove for your LEFT hand
- Left handers: you will need a glove for your RIGHT hand
- Khaki shorts and/or pants for uniform on match days
- Optional: Your own golf clubs if you have them, bring them every day (Can borrow from the team)
- Positive attitude, patience, willingness to learn

Coach Cahow is entering her second season with the golf program and shse is also the head coach of Gar-Field's Softball team. She is the former head coach of the Field Hockey program and an alumna of Gar-Field High School.
