To all students taking IBDP and/or AP exams in April/May:
Congratulations, you are nearing the end of this challenging year! IB exams are scheduled to take place April 30 –
May 21, 2025. As we come to the end of the course, I want to share with you the specifics of the exam process. As
prescribed by the IBO, students must be made aware of the regulations for procedures and conduct. Attached is this
very important notice. Please be sure to keep this memo for future reference.
As an authorized IB World School, we may receive a site visit during this examination session. It is imperative that all
regulations are followed. If you have any questions regarding these regulations for procedures and conduct, please
see Mr. Bassett in the IB Office.
In this booklet, is a copy of the Gar-Field High School IB/AP Exam Schedule for May 2025. This schedule indicates the
time and place of each exam. Please cross-check your class schedule against the school’s schedule to develop your
own personalized schedule.
Attendance
IB examinations are comprehensive and rigorous assessments. Ms. Campos Rivas in the Activities Office will be
marking attendance in the HUB for all IB exams. It is the responsibility of the STUDENT to share their specific
schedule with their teachers. Individual passes will not be given to students….let this schedule serve as your pass.
While students will be marked excused for their classes during times they are taking IB exams, any absences that
take place outside of examination time MUST be excused by the parents with appropriate documentation.
Please be considerate of the teachers that have IB exams and SOLs towards the end of the examination schedule by
attending all of your classes when you are not examining. AGAIN….. please follow school procedures for late arrivals
or early dismissals.
If you experience a medical emergency on the day of an IB exam, please inform the IB Office at (571) 298-0047 as
early as possible and schedule a physician’s appointment. The IB Organization will require proper documentation
before ruling on the absence. The IBO does not offer make-up exams or “late dates.” Make-up IB exams are not
available regardless of the cause.
Arrival
Enter the BLUE GYM through the side doors near the men’s locker room side. Please be sure to review the testing
schedule for start times. In all cases, students should report to the exam room approximately 15 minutes before the
start time of the test. Students who arrive late to an exam may be admitted no more than 30 minutes past the start
time, although they will not be read test instructions, nor will additional test time be permitted. Students who arrive
later than 30 minutes beyond the start time may not enter the test room or take the exam.
Wishing you all the best with the 2025 examination session!
Brian Bassett
