“Although PWCS is unable to provide instruction or class assignments to students while schools remain closed, our School Division hopes that the suggestions for optional learning activities posted here will help parents support student learning until schools re-open. Please remember that use of these materials and participation in these activities are optional and neither grades nor course credit will be awarded."

Hello Parents and Students!

I hope you all are doing well and staying safe during this crazy time!

Although the building is closed for the remainder of the school year, we will be continuing our learning virtually. Each student has been sent an invite to the Read 180 year 2 Microsoft Teams class. They will need to login to their school email to access the Teams page. Microsoft Teams is how we will have our read 180 class for the remainder of the year, and where you can find assignments moving forward.

I will post assignments using the Teams page and I will also be available to help students with any questions or technical issues daily on Microsoft Teams, they can chat with me or video call from 10 a.m.-12 p.m, or parents and students can email me anytime at

Thankfully, our reading classes have included some online learning already with the use of Read180 system.  You have been used to working by yourself on the software and reading and responding to different genres of literature.  So, that should make our shift to complete online learning a little easier for you. Below you can find instructions for how to access Microsoft Teams:

We will be using Microsoft Teams as a classroom platform.

You can use your Office 365 email account to access our Teams classroom.  Just click on the 9-dot waffle at the top left corner of the screen and you will find Teams in the menu of apps.

Click on the app, and you will find our class as one of the team options for you.  When you click on our class, you will see messages on our discussion board.  This is where we will do most of our communication.  Of course, you can still email, or we can even video chat through Teams or Zoom if we need to.  At the top of the screen, you will see a tab for "Files".  This is where you will find materials for our class.  Right now, I have posted some activities for you that I think you will find very interesting.

In case you cannot access your 365 account right now, you can also find links to our reading sites and files that contain the activities on the left side of this page.

Useful links, files and document, homework and calendar

Please feel free to contact me if you have any problems or need help with the activities.  I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Ms. Wells
